Amanda Munger
Treasurer
Amanda Munger is Treasurer of the Survivors Say Board of Directors. She is a Partner at Melwood Global and has more than a decade of communications and government experience in the White House, Congress, the Executive Branch, and the private sector.
Amanda has spent more than 20 years dedicated to using her experience as a sexual assault survivor to advocate for and support survivors. She previously served as a member of the Advocacy Council for DV LEAP, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence by challenging unjust trial outcomes and advancing legal protections for survivors and has volunteered with women’s shelters and survivor groups in Washington, D.C.
She previously served as a spokesperson at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of the Interior until the end of the Obama administration, starting her career in the White House Speechwriting office. During her time in government, she helped craft messaging and media response strategies following the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook shooting, Hurricane Sandy, the crashes of two commercial airliners and other national and international crises.
Amanda graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and two children.
