Nicole Bresnahan

Nicole Bresnahan, a former Victim Witness Advocate, has held many roles within the victim advocacy community for over five years and is familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of victim services. As a Board Member, Nicole works toward creating a trauma-informed approach within journalism and addressing the disconnect between victimization and heightened media attention.
She initially joined Survivors Say as a volunteer after seeing how overwhelming media attention following a tragedy is a common occurrence for survivors and families; however, this part of their experience remains overlooked. She believes survivors and families deserve privacy throughout their healing journey, and the decision belongs to a survivor or family if and when they want to share their story.
Nicole graduated from UMass Boston and lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
