Miguel Estrella

Miguel Estrella worked for Habitat for Humanity and was studying to become an electrician, even as he battled ongoing mental health challenges made worse by the death of a close friend. He was shot and killed by a Pittsfield Police Officer during a mental health crisis in 2022. We supported Miguel’s survivor family with their public statements during and after the investigation into the shooting and as they advocated for better training in mental health for police officers throughout Massachusetts.
